Quantum Chromodynamics Energy Large Hadron Collider

Samara State University continues to implement the project “Development of Quantum Chromodynamics for Test of Standard Model and Search Effects of New Physics at Energies of the Large Hadron Collider” within the framework of Federal Target Program “Scientific, academic and teaching staff of innovative Russia in 2009-2013, Action 1.5 “Teams of scientists conducting research in physics and astronomy under supervision of visiting researchers”.

The Proceedings of the Students Training-Contest in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics

The third issue of the series (http://arxiv.org/abs/1110.4864) represents the Proceedings of the Students Training-Contest in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics and includes statements and solutions of the problems offered to the participants.

The contest was held on May 21-24, 2010 and was organized by Scientific Research Laboratory of Mathematical Physics of Samara State University (http://labmathphys.samsu.ru/eng/content/view/39/36/) together with  Steklov Mathematical Institute of Russia's Academy of Sciences, and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University).

The topics covered include classical mechanics, integrable nonlinear systems, probability, integral equations, PDE, quantum and particle physics, cosmology, and other areas of mathematical and theoretical physics.

The present Proceedings can be used by the students of physical and mechanical-mathematical departments of the universities, who are interested in acquiring a deeper knowledge of the methods of mathematical and theoretical physics, and can be also useful for the people involved in teaching mathematical and theoretical physics.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Russia visits Samara State University

November 24, 2011, Mr. Hugo Jose Garcia Hernandez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Russia paid a visit to Samara State University. 

Prof. Igor A. Noskov, Rector of Samara State University, welcomed the Ambassador. Mr. Hernandez gave a lecture to SSU students on major milestones in the history of the country, revolution, positive changes in economic, political and social order of the Republic and trends of development. The Ambassador expressed readiness for collaboration of our countries especially in the field of science and education and a significant role of Samara State University. After the lecture Mr. Hernandez had a discussion with students and presented them with the books, published with the assistance of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Russia and Latin-American Cultural Center named after Simon Bolivar in honour of 200 years of Declaration of Independence. 

 

Honorary guests visited Samara State University

September 29, 2011 Gianguido Breddo, honorary consul of Italy in Samara region and Republic of Tatarstan, and prof. Adriano Dell'Asta, attaché for cultural relations of Italian Embassy in Moscow, visited Samara State University within the Year of Italy in Russia. They had a meeting with students of our university. Prof. Adriano Dell'Asta shared his impressions of his life and work in Russia, told about coming events during the year of Italy in Russia.

Prof. Adriano Dell'Asta is a real expert and admirer of Russian culture and literature; he makes a wonderful company, that is why the meeting turned out in a lively conversation. Prof. Adriano Dell'Asta told students about his knowledge of works of Russian writers, and the reasons why he decided to connect his life with Russia and Russian literature. During his teaching career Prof. Adriano Dell'Asta not only gave lectures on Russian literature; he also translated to Italian some works of Solzhenitsyn, Solovyev, Bulgakov, Grossman. He willingly answered numerous questions students asked him and in good Russian.

Hopefully, this meeting motivated our students to study Russian literature and history which arouse sincere genuine interest in foreigners.
